Chesterfield Michigan Family Photographer – Beth Eggert Photography
I love working with families to help capture a point in time. For my own family, our home is filled with wall portraits – I have a terrible time taking down the old and putting up the new so I just move things around a bit so that I can keep them all! I love that when I start my day and head to the living space, I see my beautiful family on the wall and I remember our trip to New York that year, back in 2009. I remember the stay on Lake George, the trip to Saratoga, the stop at the Yaddo for our portraits and how much fun we had that week. As I move into the living room, I gaze upon my collage wall where I have individual images of my girls and my son in law. This session was a belated Mother’s Day Gift… and such a precious one! Everyone together in town, in coordinating outfits and we spent just a bit of time getting ready and being photographed right at our house, in our field. I love that chevy my fur grandpuppy is there, and that Pixie, our little pain in the butt dog is included. I love the image of my husband with his three girls and I even love the images that I’m in! I remember the day we did that session like it was yesterday. As I wander around my house, I see the pictures of my daughter’s wedding hanging in a window frame, portraits of my Marie and her boyfriend that are so outdated and taken just before they started college back in 2010. Such a bittersweet time for me and for them. And of course I have more current images of my youngest as she is a junior in high school. Every single image brings back a good memory. I’ll head down to the studio and I see the canvas print I had done when we took a trip to Florida many years ago. I know it’s old because my youngest is missing her front teeth, my oldest has hair down to her waist and my middle daughter still has braces! That was an awesome vacation and the photo was taken just as the sweet evening light was falling on my girls. Further along in the studio I have the wall portraits from our family session done just before our oldest went away to college – 2008. The casual setting, the big smiles, the joy at having us all together is what I feel when I look at these images.
Don’t put it off. Don’t wait until you lose 20 pounds or get your hair done. Take this time, no matter what stage your life is at right now, to book a family session. You will be so glad you did!
